Clean Air Bayswater

About us

At the end of 2021, a group of local residents came together and created the Clean Air Bayswater Group.

Our aim is to encourage everyone to take action to improve the air quality in our part of Westminster. We hope to do this by involving local schools, residents and businesses, so that we can all really make a difference.

Our community engagement started with an Air Pollution Assembly at St Stephen’s Primary School in May, where Andrew Grieve and Kayla Schulte (scientists from Imperial College’s Breathe London Programme) spoke to all the pupils about the causes of air pollution and the actions we can take to reduce our exposure.

Our aim

Our overall aim is to ensure that everyone in our community (irrespective of age and ethnic background) understands the importance of breathing clean air and the fact that we all have a role in improving the air we breathe, whether through lobbying government for legislation that limits pollutants, through changing everyday habits such as walking instead of driving, and avoiding busy polluted roads. Our view is that this type of local action is required to support and reinforce national and London wide messages.
